Feast Your Eyes
Feb. 2022
"If you could choose anything, what one thing would you eat for the rest of your life?". It drives a hard bargain, leaving me in a boat of indecisiveness: I cannot confidently name one thing I would eat for the rest of my life. Although my palette sways towards Asian foods, I definitely wouldn't mind some honeyed-pear ravioli for the rest of my days either, or perhaps blackened fish tacos with avocado will do wonders instead... and there I go, being incredibly indecisive all over again. Add to that the already established emotional connection to meals and I'll never decide. This body of work showcases dishes I've eaten growing up and throughout life, offering delicious memories. Often, good memories can be distorted in the best of ways while the feelings stay the same. Each artwork below is embellished to evoke that warmth I associate with it. But this is only the beginning. I hope to continue growing this section with mouthwatering, wholesome food memories. |
